power of peace

Is peace something we named or something with a true meaning. Is it worth it to die and live for it. Or is something cheap that is worth nothing. Is love the short cut to peace or is it the long way to achieve it. Is peace one world or does it have many meanings. Love or hate what gives a strong meaning to someone when struggling for peace. Does peace have limits? Can peace get normalized. What is more powerful being normal or being moral. Does peace have power or is it some thing that is powerless. These were some  of the billions of questions that imagined . As we speak of these many things we are still on our journey for finding a true universal meaning for peace.

family dynamics and the role of family in a society

MY Papa's waltz by Theodore Roethke a poem about  an addict father son relationship. The  poem shows the pains one faces due to living with an addict parent . The poet gives clue of different that might have happened. For example the poet says “  you beat time on my head” (stanza three). This quote could be exemplified to show many things  including physical abuse , failure to progress and a mix of the two. This poem shows how painful it could be to live with someone who one might not like but you can't avoid having them in his or her life.
The poem my Papa's waltz is a metaphor to illustrate the addicted parent and child relationship. The poem uses different tools to express this  including simile, personification and imaginary languages. The poem says “But I hung on like death” (stanza one) . This quote  is a smile because it compares two different things using like. This  quote could be used as an evidence to show how painful life was for the poet because the poet expressed life in there as death. The poem states “My mother's countenance Could not unfrown itself.” (stanza two). This quote personifies  the poets mothers countenance by saying that it could not unfrown itself. The poet used this quote  as tool to show that he mother was also a victim of his fathers addict life. The poet uses a lot of  imaginary language to express his thoughts. The poem says “ Then waltzed me off to bed Still clinging to your shirt.” (stanza four). This quote visualizes the their relationship and the back and forward movement they had.

Poets and writes express their meaning for life, humanity, and other things associated to human nature  using theme. Theodore used his to express his meaning of life with addict parent from the child's perspective. This poem had all the necessary devices to give the poets message. This poem is serious and could be used to awaken people on domestic violence and other addiction related  issues. Peace begins from home and so does violence. Then they go on and begin changing and affecting society in different ways. His being pushed by his parents might be part of the reason he became a poet who knows ?!!
